ReadBoston’s 2015 summer Storymobile program was a huge success! This year our 6-week summer program visited over 80 community locations each week across the city. Every location received a professional interactive storytelling experience followed by children in the audience choosing a new, high-quality book to keep. In a 6-week period we gave away over 30,000 new books to children all over Boston!
In addition to our daytime programming, we held three evening sessions each week at the JP South Street Housing development’s Tuesday Hot Dog Night, the Hyde Square Task Force’s ¡Viva el Latin Quarter! summer series, and at the West Roxbury Library. Our BookBike traveled around Boston every Friday morning, sharing stories, songs and books in an environmentally-friendly way. And we held special Storymobile events at the USS Constitution Museum in Charlestown and on the Boston Harbor Islands. It was a busy summer for everyone!
