One of ReadBoston’s popular community events are our neighborhood StoryStrolls. StoryStrolls promote literacy and interactions between adults and children by providing public access to picture books. A StoryStroll is created by uniquely displaying a complete picture book across urban and green spaces or in consecutive storefront windows.

ReadBoston has partnered with the Rose F. Kennedy Greenway Conservancy, community partners, parks, and neighborhood businesses to bring engaging stories to children and families across the City of Boston.

In October, ReadBoston, in partnership with the Greenway, hosted a bilingual StoryStroll in English and Mandarin at the Red Gate in Chinatown Park. 60 preschoolers danced and chanted their way through a highly interactive, bilingual version of the classic children’s picture book, “Brown Bear Brown Bear What Do You See?” by Bill Martin and Eric Carle.
